The most important thing to know is that there is no such thing as an "IBS diet", very different diets are needed for bloating, diarrhoea or constipation. Also, jumping to advanced an advanced diet like "low-FODMAP" may well not be needed.

- Are not about eating lots of fibre - some is good, but too much fibre may make symptoms worse and it doesn't agree with everyone.
- Might not improve symptoms completely - other things can also be a cause of IBS symptoms e.g.
a lot of stress, too much alcohol, certain medication and other conditions that are not being diagnosed!
